Dead Banks has arrived!

Finally, it has been released from its slumber. Preorders are up at the Holy Roar Store. There is a limited edition t-shirt featuring the album artwork. You can buy the LP and shirt for 10 sheets each or as a bundle for 17 queen heads. The tracks "Ruiner" and "Blind Summit" have been uploaded to the Bandcamp as well as the Holy Roar site for free download.
The first hundred get a special black/grey design on the actual vinyl, the rest of you get the plain black.

This will be followed by a limited edition CD version and the all important tape later on in the year, both with different artwork.
We have other things planned as well.

New year. Time to rise. The album has returned from mastering. Sounds relentless. Sam Manville ( Throats, Blakfish ) did a superb job. The 17 track album will be called "Dead Banks".
Information regarding formats, release date and track listing will be forthcoming.
There is a Bandcamp page being set up as well. Our Myspace site is going to be minimised quite a bit and won't be checked from now on. That website has become a nightmare to access and do anything with. Any contact or bookings will be made through email, here and our Facebook page.
In other news, our guitarist Daniel is pretty busy with the reformation of Manchester's favourite sons, Beecher. Plus he also finally posted tracks from his newest project Pine Barrens, available to download for free as well. Enjoy.

Well, we survived Offset festival. We had fun. lots of good bands and good friends. Was awesome catching up with so many people in the same day. Rolo Tomassi, Lavotchkin, Throats, Hammers, Diet Pills, Chickenhawk and Trash Talk all put in awesome sets. There will be photos of it up soon. For now here is the Ergon immediatly post set...

In other news, the "special" split 7" is nearly ready. Who its with and what it contains will be announced soon. The album is held up at the moment I am afraid, more information when its ready.

RECOVERY/REBIRTH

Slowly its been coming together. We have finished the recording, mastering and mixing of our debut album. The artwork is being worked on as we speak and tentatively we are looking into possible release dates. The album will be preceded by a very special, split 7" with some friends of ours.
Gigs are once again happening. In the next few weeks we hit Birmingham for the Last Of The Summer Grind alldayer. Lots of fast noisy bands. Then the week after we hit London for Offset Festival. The stage we are playing on looks pretty sweet. Plus Atari Teenage Riot are playing so that should be worth an investigation.

It has been a long time since I updated this blog. Many reasons exist but it doesn't matter to anyone else.
As it stands now. The Ergon Carousel have recently recorded the main body that will make up our debut album. The title has yet to be decided and there is still mixing and mastering to finish up. So far it puts the EP to complete shame. We are all proud of it. The vocals are being finished up as I type this.

Details about it will be announced once the recording nears completion. We have live action planned as much as we can manage. plus there will be a little surprise or two later on this year.

INJURY TIME

The silence continues. We have been forced to side line any practise and gigging due to Brody's unfortunate knee injury. This has given us time to write some more stuff for the album but has put the recording date back further. But don't worry we have muchos good stuff planned for 2010.
We are also going to have some stuff on a 4-way split with our mates Diet Pills, Jonathan Ross and someone else.

STILL TWITCHING, STILL BREATHING....

Once again, we have been side lining the band of recent times. Stuff is still happenning but due to geography and work commitments, the bastard curse of the musician, we have not been playing out anywhere near as much as we would like. This has allowed us plenty of time to knuckle down to the task of writing a whole load of new stuff. Stuff which we are looking into recording after New year. Who with and what form this will take have yet to be decided.
After his stint filling the vocal position for Texan grinders Insect Warfare, our Chris has continued his grind-of-fortune career and filled out the ranks of Charger for a few recent live outings. Brody has been busy with his drum related website Grabsticks, Johnboy has been gigging with Mechagodzilla and his solo, blues project Gold Tooth Joe. Daniel has a new band, Pine Barrens. Sadly they have no internet presence just yet but should have some recordings avaiable to listen to soon enough.

In other news we are featured on a free, download compilation put together by Lovely Time Promotions. our track "Ironclad" is featured alongside 24 other bands/artists. Its available for download by clicking the link below....

I have been meaning to get this thing back up and running. Ergon has been busy since the last post. Firstly the Scotland trip was a success. All three dates where good, we went on a rollercoaster, got drunk, smashed some stuff and what not. Sadly Chris could not make this trip due to our crime ridden society pulling him away from us the night before. Luckily, Duane from Diet Pills managed to fill in. We also got the chance to play with some awesome bands that you should all check out. Ablach, Divorce, Holy Mountain and Loinstorm are all worth investigation. As our tour pals and best friends Diet Pills.

Secondly we played with the briefly reformed Insect Warfare. Uber-cult, Texan grind chaps. They have been in the UK touring on the back of Earache's reissueing of the back catalogue. Sadly there vocalist fell out with them all 2 days before the tour and they looked scuppered. Thankfully, our Chris was on hand to fill in for most of the UK and Ireland dates. Sort of karma for missing Scotland, and a sweet job he did to. We played the Manchester date. Check out this footage from the first show in london. Chris had never heard IW before this day, he only had a day to try and learn it.

We are now in the stages of writing. Its coming along rather well. Still fast and harsh. I can't really divulge any more plans just yet or what we are planning. Live proof may be a bit scarce until after Christmas due to our time off being zero all round I believe. We still have copies of the Ergon Tape and the Diet Pills/Ergon split CD-r available. We are also still open to gig offers and will play whatever we can manage. We can promise loud, harsh, fast, aggro music.

NORTHERN EXPOSURE!

The very nice folk at Epileptic Media have produced a limited run of The Ergon Carousel tapes. Featuring the 6 tracks from the Holy Roar EP complete with new artwork by the awesome Sophie Penrose, she does nice work. Get her to do your artwork for you. We are pretty chuffed with this as its the first tape any of us have had out since the very early days of Narcosis, before it was "cool" again to release tapes. But it seems to be the thing to do, who are we to decline.

We are going to have a limited quantity to sell ourselves at gigs shortly and the rest will be available direct from Epileptic Media here! So get grabbing.

Hahaha so with everyone having a go at the moment I thought I would try and bang out some hand made merch. And it was easier than I thought. So The Ergon Carousel now has ( very slowly) some merch to sell. We are getting badges, stickers and that soon, but for now I am gonna try and get a load of these in various sizes knocked out before the Melt Banana and Battletorn shows.

So anyone coming to the Melt Banana show will be able to purchase themselves one of these for the lovely price of £5.

Speaking of Melt Banana.

We have had the pleasure of playing with Melt Banana every time they have been over back in the Narcosis/Beecher days. They are hands down, one of the wildest live bands I have ever seen. Kong are also ace. Noisy, angular, skronky rock.

Been somewhat of a while since the last update but thats because sod all has really happenned. We have been busy writing and living normal lives. But its time to get back on Carousel and pay the gypsy. Plus we have some pretty sweet news.
We are off this weekend to Lancaster and Bradford for more fast. Lancaster is with Tim Holehouse and Electric Mud Generator, which is cool as I ain't seen either before but heard a lot of good things. Bradford is with some of the Voorhees lot and there new noise rock band Drunk In Hell. Which is gonna be good.

Its still pretty early on for this but we are going to be hitting Scotland in September with our good friends Diet Pills for a handful of dates. Scotland is ace, we always enjoyed playing there with Narcosis and Beecher so we know how much fun it is.
But the exciting news is we have been offered to support Melt Banana in may in Manchester. A band we all love and have seen/played with/recorded with a fair bit in the past. They are seriously awesome.

Now then. So whats been happenning? nothing other than gigs, press and writing.
Gigs, Manchester the other night was a good un. Played Retro Bar with Atlas and Dog Kicked In Half. Two bands spawnned from the Raucous / Thade/Year Of The Monkey camp of Manchester bands. Both dead good. We played and managed to make a few people smile. It was good.
Press, we have a mention in this months Bizarre Magazine. The one with some shapely lady in a yellow and black, Watchmen esque outfit. Our good friend James Hoare has written a article on grind and hand-picked his favourite bands. We are in there alongside Insect Warfare and our good friends Evisorax.
Writing, a new track has been jammed out. Knuckle down to tightening that one up in the next few weeks. Plus we have lots of other ideas you will hear shortly.

Plus, even tho I banged on about them loads last post. Diet Pills are a band we all agree on. They are so good.

The Spoils Of War

What a mad couple of days. In the best possible way.
We have returned from antagonising both London and Leicester. London was a Rocksound sponsored gig. Sparse crowd but such a good PA and the sound was top. Load of our friends came down, we destroyed ears then our livers. it was quite a mixed bill but Mills and the other bands where nice folk. Dan had to go home to Manchester afterwards to go to work for half a day! His work are complete shits. Dan Shaw is a legend. Bill and Al from Throats let us stay that night. Sadly they had no smack. But you should check them out. nasty, nasty hardcore.
Leicester was next. Awesome gig held in some practise rooms. On the floor with loads of folk shouting. Duane from Diet Pills took good care of us. And his band kick ass. The missing link between The Jesus Lizard, Noothgrush and Infest. Superb. They have a 7" and tape available. Dead in The Woods kicked my teeth out as well. Ex-Army Of Flying Robots folk playing big riifs and openers Cunt Rag had some pretty nice costumes alongside there skronky noise. We enjoyed it so much.

Trouble

Updating once again. We have a load of new live pics up, some from Macky and some from Joe Ivers from the Preston gig. Said gig was fun, if slightly chaotic and abusive. Evisorax destroyed. Seriously check em out, they play loads and tour so you ain't got no excuse.

Come on London. I can't really speak for the other bands but I don't think there really at all similar to us in the slightest. But hey, someone has to ruin the party.

Baby Steps..........

Well, our very first gigs have been and gone. Both where awesome times and thank you so much to everyone that came out, all the other bands, Macky for his awesome photos and Paul and Thom ( Leeds and Lancaster respectively) for offering us such fine platforms to abuse the public with our noise. Leeds was ace. all our friends came down, we played mega fast and the other bands where top. More Than A Joke and Burning The Prospect both owned. Check them both out. Macky came along and captured said moments in pictures. They will be up soon.
Lancaster was also beyond ace. Hammers, Burning The Prospect, Mesa Verde and Jonathan Ross impressed me. Seriously. Check out Hammers. Absolute, dark, aggro hardcore. So so heavy.
We have a load more dates being booked and confirmed so far....

Well, it maybe a bit late in the new year for one of those bollocks "Year in Review" things, and seeing as Ergon hasn't done much other than practise ( oh, and record and release a 6-track EP dickhead!) and more practise.
Well the live gigs are booked..kicking off this Friday with Leeds and then Lancaster on the day after....fliers...

Then the Lancaster one is with some pretty sweet bands.....

The idea was to get as many gigs as possible booked in before the dreaded tour van MOT at the end of Febuary, one of the only things that will strike fear into a touring hardened band. So far we have got the following sorted....

Bit of a while since the last post but there really hasn't been much news to report.
Well there is now. We have been featured in the December issue of Rocksound Magazine. There is a small article on us in the "Ones To Watch 2009" feature. It features that pretty lady from Lacuna Coil on the cover. It also features The Freezing Fog and Trap Them so you can't have an excuse not to buy it.

We now have live dates as well! Yes thats right dickheads. The Ergon is finally ready to hit the live arena and remove faces and other body limbs. So far we have these 5 chances of redemption for you....

Rumours and Ridicule...

Ahoy there scumbags. Reeto. Been a while since we posted anything on here, as there hasn't been much to psot really. The set is pretty much finished. Just practise now. The first Ergon live dates are being booked for January defo. That will see the Ergon unleashed on the world.
the EP has sold pretty good, onto the second pressing now. We will be doing a photo shoot with the awesome Macky Photo on Sunday. As there has been some press interest and we need proper promo shots. Look out for that stuff soon.
Also we had the EP reviewed in Kerrang this week, for those not lucky enough to see it, you can read it in the reviews blog on the Myspace. Funnily enough we sound like Atari Teenage Riot and The Locust. We recieved 2 K's, which is better than being raped. So fair do's.

The Ergon Carousel EP has been confirmed for a release. Our good friends at Holy Roar Records have gone and given us the chance to get it out to your pathetic ears. Compromising 6 tracks of mega fast, harsh and intenese grind. It will bea limited edition Cd-r release with hand made packaging courtesy of the wonderfull Meesh of Nottingham alongside a digital downlaod release on all the usual things. Its a fuckin relief to ahve it sorted now. But don't rest easy, we have more material sorted that is faster and harsher than anything before.
JB celebrated this news in the best way possible.

P.S. If you ahve a data read stereo in your car, try putting in CD copies of albums. A hire car recently gave me this interesting information about "Take As Needed For Pain" by Eyehategod. And I was at work as well.

Its been a couple of weeks since The Ergon Carousel music was uploaded onto the internet. And the response has been so fucking good. Thank you to everyone that has added us as friends on Myspace, sent us emails or messages and spread the word on forums. Its proper good of youse.
We are currently seeking a outlet for the EP and preperations are afoot for live work. Sadly nothing just yet as we are still sorting the finer details out. but thanks to all the offers for gigs and you will witness us live soon enough. That has been the plan all along. provisionally we are looking at later on this year.

HERE WE FUCKING GO! The Ergon Carousel has finally recorded its debut 6 tracks. They are now available to listen to on our Myspace page. This weekend was spent in the remote climes of Jarraf House Studios with Mr John Kettle. All 6 tracks where recorded, mixed and mastered in those 2 days. The most intense thing any of us have ever committed. Photo evidence is up on the myspace page.

We are now looking for some good person to maybe release it for us.
We Are all itching to get this into the live enviroment, its been too long without. We have had quite a few good offers so far but we are still ironing out the creases to make sure it fully destroys when released.
The task now is to spread the word and set this fucker of its leash.

The Start Of Something......

....is pretty much happening now. The Ergon Carousel has been birthed on the world. Where to begin...I could go into millions of details of why and what but put simply... myself ( Oliver), JB and Brod just carried on jamming after Narcosis ( our old life) and eventually we had written a load of songs. Daniel ( ex-Beecher), we have known for too long and it was just right to get him involved. Chris ( Carmen) had been a good friend to us during the Narcosis days so it fitted getting him involved and that is where we are at right now.
We are currently gearing upto record ina little over 2 weeks time with our old ally Mr John Kettle (Narcosis, Red Right Hand, Mechagodzilla) at Jarraff Studios. Besides helping deliver our previous incarnations he is a good ally and with him we should have music up on the mandatory Myspace page in a few weeks. I could try and explain what it sounds like, but its probally better you listen yourself and make up your own minds.
After that it is to spread the word, gig and get back into the fray of the music battlefield and hopefully find an outlet to release this material.
